Yoga, Mindfulness & Wellness Activities
Recovery asks a lot of the body and mind. Yoga and mindfulness give both a daily practice of calm — one that survives life outside the centre.
Overview
Wellness practices are not a decoration on top of recovery — for many people they are what makes the rest of the day manageable. Yoga and mindfulness work directly on what dependence disrupts: sleep, restlessness, stress reactivity and the physical restlessness that makes early recovery so hard.
Confirmed as an active service by the centre, our yoga, mindfulness and wellness activities are offered as part of rehabilitation programmes and as standalone support, adapted to each person's fitness and comfort. No experience is expected — most participants arrive as complete beginners.
Who this may help
- People in early recovery whose sleep and nerves are struggling.
- Anyone who used substances to relax, and needs a healthier way to reach calm.
- Those whose recovery needs daily structure and a healthy routine.
- Families: stress-management practices help the household too, not only the individual.
What it includes
- Yoga practice — gentle, guided sessions suited to beginners, focused on breathing, flexibility and settling the body.
- Mindfulness and breathing techniques — simple practices for managing cravings, anxiety and restless moments.
- Wellness activities — activities that rebuild routine, structure and healthy engagement with the day.
- Stress-management skills — practical techniques a person can carry into work, home and difficult moments.
These practices complement — and never replace — counselling and programme support. For most participants they become the steadiest part of the day.

FAQs
Questions about yoga & wellness
I have never done yoga. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Sessions are gentle and adapted to each person’s comfort and fitness. Most of the people who join our wellness activities had never practised yoga before.
Can yoga and mindfulness really help with cravings?
They help many people manage the moments when cravings and restlessness peak — breathing and mindfulness techniques are practical tools for exactly those minutes. They work alongside counselling and programme support, not instead of it.
